Haugaard’s International Fiddle School 2012

will take place in the beautiful northern German region of North Frisia,
close to the border with Denmark.

29th July - 4th August 2012

Looking to inspire and attract students from all over the world, recognised Danish fiddler Harald Haugaard has brought together a group of the best artists and tutors from the contemporary Nordic and Anglo/Celtic music scenes.

The 2012 fiddle school will be a seven-day event for playing music, singing, dancing, and making new friends. In its first two years the fiddle school was attended by students from Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Holland, Japan, Norway, Portugal, Sweden, Switzerland, the UK, and the USA. People of all ages, and from diverse cultures and countries, come together at the fiddle school to enjoy a common interest: music and the joy of music.

The fiddle school offers an intensive daily timetable of four instrumental lessons with world-class artists and tutors. Optional activities will include master classes, workshops, dancing, a teachers' concert, an 'open stage' evening and storytelling. Excursions can be made to nearby attractions such as the North Sea coast, Husum, the Danish town of Tønder, the Nolde museum etc.

Applications for Haugaard's International Fiddle School 2012 open on September 1st 2011.
